DEV IT built an intelligent invoice automation system that takes over the repetitive, high-volume work the team had been doing manually. Instead of people monitoring inboxes, copying data fields, and running lookups, Microsoft Power Automate handles all of that on its own — keeping invoices moving without delays or bottlenecks.
Invoices received via email are captured automatically, organized into vendor-specific Google Drive folders, and pushed through the extraction pipeline. Azure Document Intelligence pulls invoice numbers, purchase order references, garment details, quantities, pricing, and line-item data — then a .NET scheduler service matches it against internal records to flag discrepancies or confirm a clean match.
An Angular-based verification portal gives the team a fast, clear view of what's in the queue. Staff can review flagged invoices, correct anything that needs it, and track each one through the process without chasing emails or digging through systems. Automated workflow tracking runs throughout, which also improves visibility into where exceptions are occurring and why.
The results were hard to argue with: manual processing effort fell by 99%, data accuracy improved by 95%, invoices moved through considerably faster, and for the first time, teams had genuine visibility into how the workflow was actually running.
