The client, an India-based leading technology company with a large presence in CSR platforms, wanted to change that. Their idea: a mobile platform on iOS and Android that brings affordable medical consultations directly to users, wherever they are, at a time that works for them. They wanted it to be simple enough to drive real adoption and trusted enough to keep people coming back. DEV IT built it. The client already has a large, established user base through their CSR work. That reach came with a clear picture of what poor healthcare access actually looks like — long travel, expensive consultations, and clinics that simply aren't reachable for a large part of the population. Their goal wasn’t to build another health app. What they wanted was a platform that didn't treat rural and urban users differently. One that could connect patients with qualified doctors regardless of where either party happened to be sitting. It was a complete digital healthcare ecosystem bringing patients, doctors, Primary Healthcare Center staff, and administrators together on a single platform across both mobile & web, without any one group feeling like an afterthought. The platform needed to handle appointment booking, secure video consultations, digital prescriptions, and patient record management. This had to be done all while meeting strict healthcare data and compliance requirements like HIPAA, GDPR, etc. DEV IT came on board to design and build exactly that.
Healthcare platforms carry a different kind of weight than most software. When something breaks, or patient data is mishandled, the consequences go well beyond a bug report. The team had to get several genuinely hard things right at the same time.
Serving Multiple User Groups: The platform had to work for four very different types of users — patients and doctors on mobile, PHC staff and admins on web portals. Each needed to be designed for how that user actually works.
Supporting Less Digitally Literate Users: As a significant share of the target patient base had limited digital experience, PHC staff needed the option to register patients and book consultations on their behalf.
Strict Compliance Requirements: For this platform, HIPAA and HL7 weren't optional. To handle patient data securely, ensuring compliance was a must.
Doctor Verification Process: Every doctor had to go through credential review and identity validation before going live.
Scalable MVP Development: The client wanted a clean, fast launch. Payment gateways, medicine distribution, and consultation recording were deliberately held back so the core platform could go live without compromise.
Video Consultation Integration: Video consultations in a medical context aren't just video calls. The solution needed to support screen sharing for records, in-call chat, and data flows complex enough that WhatsApp Business API — the original plan — turned out to be unworkable.

Moreover, to keep the operations compliant, the administrators also get a dedicated dashboard with platform-wide statistics, doctor verification controls, and audit trails.
Every prescription is issued digitally. It is logged with an expiration date and shared directly with the patient. All appointments, records, and histories live in one centralized, secure system. A system that is backed by a verified doctor network and an MVP architecture already ready for what comes next.
The outcome was a meaningful improvement in healthcare accessibility, a verified doctor network patients can trust, and a scalable foundation already designed for what comes next — SNOMED CT integration, electronic health records, and expanded healthcare services.
The platform is live and working. Patients are getting consultations they couldn't easily access before. Doctors and PHC staff have tools that actually fit how they work. That's the baseline — and it was always meant to be a starting point, not a destination. As adoption grows, the client is in a good position to extend the platform further: new service lines, integrations with electronic health records, expanded reach into communities currently underserved even by the existing network. The architecture supports it. The groundwork is there. What comes next is a question of sequencing, not feasibility.
