Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), a Government of Gujarat enterprise, has been instrumental in driving the state’s industrial growth through over 200 well-developed industrial estates spanning more than 30,000 hectares across 26 districts. In addition, GIDC is spearheading 11 Special Investment Regions (SIR) to foster a robust investment ecosystem.
To strengthen administrative control and streamline estate management processes, GIDC sought a complete overhaul of its digital infrastructure through the implementation of an Integrated Online Computerized System (ERP). The initiative required full-scale Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services encompassing design, development, migration, integration, and maintenance of a multi-module system. DEV IT was entrusted with this mandate, bringing in the right mix of technical expertise and manpower support to successfully execute this transformation.
When DEV IT engaged with GIDC, the primary challenge was inheriting a complex project from a previous vendor whose system lacked functionality and reliability. The task required taking complete ownership of the ERP framework while ensuring business continuity.
Simultaneously, DEV IT needed to customize 15 core modules, including Accounts, Budget, ATP, CPF, and Engineering, to match GIDC’s exact functional and reporting requirements. Establishing a strong server infrastructure and ensuring stable connectivity across decentralized offices also posed a major hurdle. Aligning manpower deployment, upgrading technology, and maintaining security within strict timelines demanded precise coordination and technical depth.
